Average Order Value Toolkit
Use the tabs to calculate AOV, refine it using net sales assumptions, set targets, and compare segments.
Tip: For a cleaner operational AOV, many stores use net sales (excluding tax) and subtract discounts/refunds. Use the Adjusted AOV tab to model that view.
Tip: If refunds happen later than the reporting window, your “gross AOV” can look inflated. Adjusted AOV helps normalize performance and set safer marketing guardrails.
Tip: If you can’t realistically increase orders fast, increasing AOV through bundles, thresholds, and upsells can be the quickest lever to hit revenue targets.
Add revenue and orders by channel, campaign, country, device, or any segment. This tab calculates AOV per segment and your blended AOV, then exports the table as CSV.
| Segment | Revenue | Orders | AOV | Remove |
|---|
Tip: Segment AOV can reveal where upsells work best. High-AOV segments often respond well to bundles, while low-AOV segments may need improved discovery or a clearer free-shipping threshold.
