Feline Due Date & Gestation Estimator
What a feline due-date estimate can and cannot tell you
A cat’s estimated due date is often calculated by adding a typical gestation interval to the recorded mating date. In many references, feline gestation is approximately nine weeks, but natural variation and uncertainty about the actual conception date mean there is no guaranteed delivery day. The calculator’s due date is a planning reference rather than proof that mating resulted in pregnancy.
For illustration, if mating occurred on March 1, adding 63 days gives an estimated date of May 3 in an ordinary non-leap year. The displayed pregnancy window should be interpreted as approximate, especially if the cat mated over several days. Breeding records, ultrasound, veterinary examination, and changes in appetite or behavior can offer additional context, but no single online date estimate confirms a viable pregnancy.
Contact a veterinarian promptly for concerning signs such as unusual distress, bleeding, severe weakness, or prolonged difficulty during labor. Decisions about imaging, delivery assistance, nutrition, and the health of kittens require an examination. Do not use this estimator alone to decide when intervention is necessary.
